Niagara Falls has a wealth of history full of colourful characters, driven by the river and the falls, and predicated by the proximity to one of the world’s great powers. The waterfalls themselves are a sacred place for Hindus, Buddhists, and Native Americans, amongst others, and have attracted tourists in their millions from around the world.
The library has put together a number of digital exhibitions drawn from our collections to highlight some of these aspects of the falls. Some feature the river and the waterfalls themselves, others feature the built and social histories of the City of Niagara Falls and its inhabitants. More are being developed and will be added, so make sure to check back.
